The indigo courtyard with its connecting rooms is the most striking area. I rest for considerable time in the realm of blue, imagining four centuries of young women who chose to dismiss contact with the exterior world and devote themselves to prayer. I should add that these were daughters of nobility. This ensured that the convent continued to gain riches, such as the finest collection of Spanish American art in South America.
