Arequipa :: Convento de Santa Catalina ::
For two days, I loiter about Arequipa. The White City, as it is locally called, is a town with lovely architecture, namely the Plaza De Armas and the Santa Catalina Convent. The nunnery, depicted here, is a walled city within a city that stretches over many square blocks. The various corridors even have street names. Each sector is painted in alternating vivid colors, as if a color-coding system was intended.
