Machu Picchu :: Summiting Huayna Picchu ::
Sheer, vertical rock leads to the peak of Huayna Picchu, where my friend and I linger, waiting for the gray to lift. In one moment, I ask him, "Do you think we will capture the legendary view of Machu Picchu?" In the next moment, the sound of thunder crooks our heads together in fear. Remarkably, the clouds do part. We quickly take photos and descend the foreboding slopes.
