Machu Picchu :: Ascending Huayna Picchu :: The following morning, I see another hiker who has the same intention as I. Both of us roam the base of Huayna Picchu, the mountain adjacent to the sacred site. There is trepidation. Will the dark clouds bring a storm? We gaze up and consider the odds. If a storm does prevail, isn't it still better to climb now and beat the traffic of late morning hikers? Each opting for the latter, we meet on the slippery slopes of Huayna Picchu as our speeds and paths collide.
